Changing girl

Here's my last work. A little ecchi, as you can see. I hope it's spicy enough, without being vulgar. It didn't take much time, but I had a little troubles for the hair's color. Originally, it was green (the first one of the alternative versions), but Tay didn't want my first green-haired girl to be half naked, so I had to try other colors (as you can see from the many colors on the side of the frames). It was a busy weekend, and today I had the house free because my parents were out for a cerimony. So... :3

Smiling girl

The other day I was wondering about a subject for my next drawing, and a dear friend asked me to draw her. Now, I don't know if I managed to draw her in an appropriate way, it's not like I can pretend to be able to "cartoonify" people yet, but beside the appearence, I wanted to draw her in the way I want her to be: Smiling. Don't let anyone take away your smile from you ;)
On the technical side, I am a little unsure on the skin's tone =|
The pose was quite easy to draw, but after doing the first lineart, I realized the neck was a little too long, so I somehow shortened it a little, and made the head a tad bit bigger. I have to find a better technique to add make up on the eyelids.

I've been a little busy lately, because as I mentioned in the previous post, I started reading the papers, articles and the documentations I received from Kyoto, it's interesting but it's also long and technical. In the next days I will have to discuss with a professor about it, because it might be also a good chance for a thesis.

  

Today Darius ( Darius - Lol Wiki ) was released. I tried it in the PBE, and I liked him from the start. Finally, it might be about time I found a champ that could distract me from Jax ( Jax - Lol Wiki ). I played with Enrico, Ronky & Franz and did a rather good score. Horray!

Stephie's amazing postcard

The other day I received a postcard from Hong Kong, it was not your usual postcard, it was finely embroidered with different kind of fabrics (cotton and silk I think). When I received the mail I wasn't home and my parents were rather suprised by it, but as soon as I got it, without even openeing the envelope I knew it was from Stephie xD.

Thanks a lot! I appreciated it a bunch and I'll treasure it \o/

When amazing opportunities knock on your door you can't help but smile!

Lately almost everything is working the right way for me. Sure, I can't slack off and there are some obscure topics but university-wise & work-wise everything's going great. I feel like everyday I am learning something new that could prove to be useful in the future, even when I feel lazy, there is no day that is going to a waste. Romantically, it was a lot of time things weren't going as smoothly and as peacefully as now. It makes you happy when a girl wants to be with you not because you're perfect and pretends you to be, but because she likes you enough to look beyond your flaws and treasure your perks and the time you spend with her. Little by little I am learning to draw, thanks to my relentless efforts but also thanks to the many friends that are criticizing me, supporting me, suggesting me and cheering me up. I think a real friend, is someone that is true to you, that points to your mistakes when he sees them, not 'coz he wants to make you feel wrong, not 'coz he wants to be right, but 'cause he wants to help you improve. If we want to get better as persons and in everything we do, we should be ready to accept critics from friends and work upon them, without caring about the gossip of strangers.
I feel happy. :)

The conference...

As if all this wouldn't be enough, a few days ago, something really incredible happened. We were attending a conference about "Less-Conscious Information Retrieval Techniques for Location Based Service", beside the cryptic title, it was really really interesting, and it was held by one of the biggest experts in the world in Databases, Geolocalization and Information Retrieval, the japanese professor Kazutoshi Sumiya. Together with another professor, he exposed the projects they've been working in the last years, and while I was listening to them, I somehow came up with an idea that could possibly help to improve those projects. After the conference I went to talk with the professor, and I discussed with them about my idea...I just intended it to be a little contribution to the scientifical community, but they seemed quite interested, enthusiast about it. They talked among them (in japanese) and then he took off his wallet and gave me his business card, with my great surprise. They said my idea was intriguing and invited me to mail him the details of it, for a possible collaboration if I was interested, and eventually to visit them in their university, near Kyoto.

I was...really really surprised about it, totally.
I mean...Kyoto...Japan!
I don't want to get my hopes too up, It's still a possibility, and even so, I have to check if it can match my Academic tight schedule, bet even so it's a possibility. An incredibly interesting possibility.

It sucks dear people, I feel for ya. But to all of you who talk shits behind my back, and wish me bad luck, I wish you to be able to succeed too, I am not as low as you are. Just learn that with sheer effort and a big heart everything can be possible. And remember to Never stop looking for what you love, or you will end up loving what you find.

Sleeping girl

Yup, this is the latest drawing I managed to get done. And yes, it's slightly ecchi. I wanted to try to add some spiciness for once, and so among the many tutorials I gathered there were also some "How to draw ecchi" and "How to draw  hentai", but I didn't want to push it too far. I hope it came out somehow cute and sexy. I think a girl wearing an oversized shirt of her boyfriend for the night is very very intriguing...right? :) (Though the shirt isn't oversized enough in this one :\ ).

I had to redo many many times the hair to get the right arrangement, especially on the upper right side. I know her face's got less details than the previous one, but they are two different styles (and this one is not wearing make up!). I really can't decide if I prefer more plain, cartoonish colors, or shaded ones >.<
I realized I draw a lot lately, I wonder if once GW2 is out I'll be able to draw as much... In the while the mean May said: "y don't u just become a doujin artist D: and live in teh basement and draw D:". Soooo mean. Jokes aside, she often helps me out with constructive criticism together with Tay with a lot of patience and suggestions...Thanks! I still have to show my latest drawings to Stephie though...and she's a tough expert cookie~

Everything is going great lately, but yesterday... yesterday something really incredible happened. I will tell you guys more about it in the next days... Just know I am really really hyped :)

New Artwork & GW2 Stress Test

After so many "manly" characters I decided to draw something cute (I hope I managed to make her cute >=| ). Differently from the previous ones, the colors, shading and lights are softer and more delicate. I tried drawing the eyes and the lips differently from the usual. They are a little more detailed, but I guess this is possible only in a close-up cut like this one.

I had this artwork almost finished by monday but I didn't post it because I had...something else to do. I took part to the Guild Wars 2 Stress Test, so I had my hands full with that. It was useless to keep levelling my Thief so I decided to start a new character with Tay, a ranger to be exact. Rangers are fun, really fun, especially with Longbow and Greatsword. I played pretty much without considering my pet at all. I already said I don't like having to take care of some extra minion =_=. I think I might officially make a ranger as my alt.

After a few hours of PvE we decided to go to hunt for Glory in PvP, and as much as I liked the Ranger, it was about time to get back to my beloved Thief. And there I realized that Tay's Norn Guardian was taller than me (I thought it was my little female ranger to be small, the one in the gallery I posted for the first BWE http://tetsuoryuu.blogspot.it/2012/05/guild-wars-2-beta-weekend-1.html), she whined though that guardian's pvp base armors looked ugly compared to thief's, and I have to agree. Anyhow, we went to PvP , me, Tay, Kyon and Fogart. It was a blast, and at least in this phase there are so many scared players, that as soon as you get close to them they'll run away even if you have less HP than them. I hadn't pvped with Tay before and I have to say she proved to be able to hold her ground rather well. I remember clearly a battle we had in the Forest of Nifhlel to defend the Keep. It was 4 vs Me and her, I thought we were done for, but Tay managed to tank them all while I dished out insane damage with my ShortBow. Once we took them all down I just couldn't stop laughing. Sadly, also the Stress Test is over and we have to wait for the next BWE now.
